Here's a picture of my girls.....
"My girls" are Greyhounds. They're former racers I adopted from
Greyhound Friends of NC, in Oak Ridge.
GFNC is having their annual Autumn Unleashed Open House on Saturday, November 1st. It's a great day to come out and meet the dogs and the wonderful volunteers who care for them.
Come out and get some information on these wonderful dogs. I've been asked to MC the day. Please come and visit the kennel!

Marisol is a beautiful brindle. People call them striped. She's been a great pet and buddy of mine for almost 10 years. If you feed greyhounds only dog food - no people food - and keep them slim, they can live for a long time. She's 13!
 This is Class. She's the fastest racer we've had. She ran twice as long as our others. Classy's 9.
 We recently lost our sweet Eclipse. We called her Lollie. She's in dog heaven now, racing her old buddies. Eclipse was the first greyhound we adopted and we loved her so much we had to get two more. We miss her terribly.

I volunteered last weekend at my church's Habitat for Humanity build in Greensboro. Met some really cool people. It's a great way to spend a day.
I have no earthly idea what that thing does. I look busy though, don't I?
Me and my new friend Kate. Besides the obvious rush from helping people in need, volunteering's a great way to meet people. You should try it some time. (Thanks for the pictures, Kate!)

I'm also a volunteer at Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman, NC. It's a camp for children with life threatening diseases. I love to go to camp and hang out with the kids.
This is called Adam's Race Shop, in honor of Adam Petty. It's got all kinds of cool stuff for the kids inlcuding race car simulators and all things racing.
Here's me kissing a fish! Ok, the deal is "Kiss and Release." The kids AND the fish love it!

Kayaking off the coast of Morehead City. Fun!
So, I like the water, swimming , shelling and fish! I have a great aquarium and my fish just had babies last month!
(I'm technically...a mom!!)
I wish mine looked that good. I killed off the first "test" batch. Poor things. I didn't have a heater and I didn't feed them enough! My new ones are warm, fat and happy! |

Tampa Bay returned a blocked punt for a touchdown and turned an interception into a touchdown – all in the first quarter – en route to a 27-3 victory over Carolina. The Buccaneers intercepted quarterback Jake Delhomme three times and held the Panthers to 40 yards rushing. "It started bad early and it didn't get any better," said head coach John Fox. "I thought their defense swarmed, and it seemed like we were working in mud the rest of the day offensively."
Next game, Sunday in Charlotte. The Panthers host the Saints. Gametime: 1pm. I LOVE candy corn!

 I could eat a whole bag at a sitting if dared. I like to eat them in colored segments. They last longer that way. And no, the ones they CLAIM are chocolate don't taste anything at all like chocolate. (Whatever....amateur candy-making turds....don't know what they're talking about...)
